The adventure of Les Mouettes Vertes originated in 2005 in the freshness of the salty air of Brittany. There the desire was born to offer an alternative to the plastic bags then offered at the checkout of organic grocery stores. The world of food distribution, including organic and fair trade, did not have the necessary tools to carry out its commitment to the end: this solution therefore appeared natural to us.

Sandqvist was founded in 2004, initially as an experimental design project by three childhood friends; Anton, Daniel and Sebastian. The brand grew organically as a response to the lack of well-crafted, design-led, functional bags on offer at the time and disrupted the status-quo on how practicality can go hand-in-hand with design.
